W O O D Y
biography
"Woody" is the alias of musician Justin
Anderson.
Justin got his performing name while working
behind the bar of a Kiama hotel, after a discussion about the television show
"CHEERS". To his knowledge, there's no "Sam Malone" or
"Norm" following his lead.
Justin began his career in local bands such
as Mazzlikes and Cornerstone, while still performing solo gigs in restaurants
and small clubs. Gradually the size and frequency of these solo shows increased
and soon, Justin found himself performing at various functions across the
Illawarra such as Carols by Candlelight and Australia Day celebrations.
The music that Justin uses is programmed and
arranged by Justin himself. "I believe this makes a difference and gives
me a consistent sound of my own. There's a lot of acts out there using the same
backing files and having worked behind a bar on many Saturday nights, your ears
prick up when there's something extra happening. It's the little details that
make the difference."
Highlights of Woody's career so far include
performing at and being an organiser for the Kiama Tsunami Benefit Concert (Jan
2005) and also performing at the Sydney Football Stadium (or Aussie Stadium as
it is now known) before a Dragons v Bulldogs Rugby League game in 2000.
Woody is also in high demand for private
functions and corporate events, having performed at over 200 weddings and
private functions over his career so far. Check out the feedback
for a few responses.
"Woody" prides himself on
delivering something for everybody, from then to now. From standard crowd
pleasers to current top 10 favourites, there's four decades of material to
choose from.
